Built in 1917 and nearing its centennial, SUGAR LAND AUDITORIUM serves as the host facility for INSPIRATION STAGE theatrical productions. This richly-significant building was officially designated as a historic landmark in 1993 by the Texas Historic Society. Restoration on the 400-seat house began in 1999 and was completed in 2011 through the combined efforts of the Sugar Land Heritage Society, Sugar Land Cultural Arts Foundation, The City of Sugar Land, Fort Bend ISD, George Foundation, and Houston Endowment, Inc. SUGAR LAND AUDITORIUM is the last remaining public building of the original Imperial Sugar Company-owned town of Sugar Land and the only building left from the original Sugar Land ISD #17.
